What the website plan includes, in section

A window is a set of parts that work together, and so is the plan. Every item below is part of the monthly fee. Nothing is sold as an add-on.

Every feature explained for window and door companies

Where window company websites lose the quote

A homeowner replacing windows compares companies before anyone comes to measure. These are the gaps that send them to the next tab.

Natural Resources Canada tells homeowners to research installers first and to get three quotes when possible 1 . So your website is read next to two others, usually on a phone, often in the evening. It needs to answer the questions a homeowner has before they are willing to book a measure.

Common faults and the fix
FaultWhat the homeowner seesWhat your site does instead
Products hidden in a brochure PDF A download link, then a 30-page file that won’t open on a phone. A page per product type: casement, awning, slider, double-hung, bay and bow, entry and patio doors.
A contact form that asks nothing Name, email, message. They don’t know what to write, so they leave. A quote form that asks what they want replaced, how many openings and when.
Efficiency claims with no numbers “Energy efficient windows” on every page, with nothing to compare. The U-factor and Energy Rating from each model’s label, shown where you supply them.
No clear service area An address and no idea whether you come to their town. A service area page listing the towns and regions you install in.
Install photos with no context A grid of windows, no product names, no house type. A project gallery captioned with the product, the home and the work done.

Halden Window & Door is invented for this example. A replacement window installer: product range first, quote form sorted by opening, service areas listed by town.
  1. Quote first. The main button starts a quote, not a generic contact form.
  2. Product range in one row. Each product type opens its own page.
  3. Questions a measure needs. What, how many and when, answered in three taps.
  4. Label values on product pages. Taken from the model’s label, only where the company supplies them.

Who the plan suits

Common questions, as clauses

7.1 What does the website plan cost?

CA$249 a month plus a one-off setup fee of CA$499, plus applicable taxes. There is one plan, with no tiers, no add-on bundles and no promotional price. The minimum term is 12 months from the day your site goes live, then it continues month to month.

7.2 Who owns the domain name?

You do. The domain is registered in your business name, with your business as the registrant, and you pay the registrar directly. If you already own a domain, we connect the new site to it. If the plan ends, we help you point the domain wherever you choose.

7.3 How long does it take to get my site live?

The site goes live within 14 days of us receiving your content. The clock starts once we have the items on the content checklist: business details, service areas, the products you install, photos, the prices or price ranges you want shown, and access to your domain. If something is missing, we tell you what it is.

7.4 Do you write the text for my website?

No. Writing your content is not part of the plan. You supply the words, photos, product details and prices, and we lay them out, format them and place them on the right pages. We send a content checklist with plain questions so you know exactly what to send.

7.5 Can my site show ENERGY STAR ratings for the windows I sell?

Your site can show the performance values printed on each model’s label, such as the U-factor and Energy Rating, and can say a model is ENERGY STAR certified if that model is certified in Canada. You supply the model details and confirm them. We don’t add certification claims ourselves, and this site does not certify anyone.
