A managed website plan (this one)
For
- Built for window and door companies, from your content
- Up to 5 changes a month done for you
- Hosting, SSL and security updates included
- Price published and fixed for the minimum term
Against
- 12-month minimum term
- You pay every month for as long as the site runs
- You supply the words, photos and prices
- Features outside the plan are quoted separately
Fits when: You want a proper site without building or maintaining it yourself, and you will send content and edits when asked.
A DIY website builder
For
- Low monthly subscription
- You can change anything, any time
- Many templates to start from
Against
- You design, write, build and maintain it
- Generic templates, not organized around products and quote forms
- Easy to start, easy to leave half-finished in busy season
- Search basics and phone layout depend on your own setup
Fits when: You enjoy doing it yourself, have slow months to spend on it, and are comfortable with layout and writing.
A one-off build from an agency or freelancer
For
- Can be fully custom, including large catalogues or integrations
- You may own the site files outright, depending on the contract
- No monthly plan fee for the build itself
Against
- Usually the largest upfront cost
- Hosting, updates and changes often billed separately
- Site can go stale after launch if nobody is paid to update it
- Quality and terms vary widely between providers
Fits when: You need something bigger than a managed plan covers, such as an online shop or a manufacturer database, and have budget for upkeep.
How to choose
- Count the hours. If building and updating a site yourself would take time you would otherwise spend measuring and installing, a DIY builder is not the cheap option it looks like.
- Ask who makes changes after launch. Most window and door sites go stale because nobody is set up to update products, photos and seasonal notes.
- Check who owns what. Your domain should be registered in your business name whatever you choose.
- Read the term. This plan has a 12-month minimum at CA$249 a month plus CA$499 setup, plus applicable taxes. Compare that with the full cost of the alternatives over the same year.
- Be wary of guarantees. Any provider promising rankings or a number of leads is promising something they don’t control.

On a short call we look at how you sell today, which products and areas your site should cover, and what you would need to send. There is no obligation, and nothing is signed on the call.
CA$249 a month plus a CA$499 setup fee, plus applicable taxes, 12-month minimum term.
No website: a Facebook or Instagram page only

Against
Fits when: You get enough work from referrals and repeat customers, and use social media as a gallery rather than a sales page.
