What’s included, feature by feature

Each part of the site explained for a window and door company: what it holds, why a homeowner needs it, and what you supply.

Product pages for windows, doors and glass

Homeowners search by product: casement windows, patio doors, triple glazing. Each product type you sell gets its own page.

  1. Heading in the homeowner’s words. “Casement windows”, not a model code.
  2. Photos from your installs. With a caption naming the product and the house.
  3. How it opens and where it suits. Written from your notes, in plain terms.
  4. Options table. Frame materials, glazing, hardware and finishes you can order.
  5. Performance values you supply. Copied from each model’s label, per model.
  6. A quote button that pre-selects this product on the form.

You tell us which products you sell and send the details. Typical pages: casement, awning, slider, double-hung, picture, bay and bow, basement windows, entry doors, patio doors and storm doors. A glass repair shop gets pages by problem instead, such as foggy sealed units and broken glass.

Energy ratings, shown the way the label shows them

Many homeowners have read that windows, doors and skylights can account for up to 25% 1 of a home’s energy loss, and they come looking for numbers. Natural Resources Canada also tells them to check a product is on the ENERGY STAR searchable list before buying 2 .

So product pages can carry the values printed on each certified model’s label: U-factor, Solar Heat Gain Coefficient, Energy Rating and Visible Transmittance, with the frame type and glazing description 3 .

How ratings are handled
RuleIn practice
Values come from youYou send the label or the manufacturer’s sheet for each model. We copy the values exactly.
Per model, not per companyA value belongs to one model and glazing option. It isn’t repeated as a general claim about all your windows.
Certification only if certified“ENERGY STAR certified” appears only next to a model you confirm is certified in Canada.
No marks we can’t useWe don’t place the ENERGY STAR symbol on your site unless your manufacturer’s arrangement allows it.

Window Websites doesn’t certify, rate or test products. How to show energy ratings on your site.

A quote form that asks about openings

A plain “message us” form leaves the homeowner guessing what to write, and leaves you calling back to ask the basics. The quote form asks the questions you would ask on the phone, in a few taps.

It can pre-select the product from the page the homeowner came from, and it ends with contact details and a short note on how they are used. Submissions go to your email and are counted in your monthly report.

Service area, without fake city pages

Every window and door company works within a range. The site lists the towns and regions you cover on one clear page and in the footer, so a homeowner knows in seconds whether you come to them.

We don’t generate a page per city with the town name swapped in. Those pages say nothing new, and search engines treat them as low value. Where you have real, different content for a region, such as a second showroom or a different product range, that region gets its own page.

Reviews, only real ones

The site links to your Google Business Profile reviews and can quote customers who have agreed in writing to be quoted. We never write reviews or testimonials for you.

Google’s policy bars paying or rewarding customers for reviews and asking only happy customers for them 4 . The site doesn’t include a “rate us first” filter that sends unhappy customers somewhere else.

Built for the phone first

Google uses the mobile version of a site for indexing and ranking 5 , and homeowners compare installers on their phones. Pages are built mobile first, with the same content on phone and desktop.

Pages are static files with small scripts, fonts served from the same host and images sized for the screen. Google’s Core Web Vitals give the targets we build toward: LCP 2.5 s, INP 200 ms, CLS 0.1 6 . We don’t promise a score, because real-world results depend on your photos, visitors’ connections and devices.

Privacy on forms, written for Canada

A quote form collects personal information, so your site says what is collected and why, next to the form and in a privacy page for your business. PIPEDA applies to private-sector organizations that handle personal information in commercial activity, and Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec have their own private-sector laws 8 .

If you later email past customers about offers, Canada’s anti-spam law requires consent for commercial messages 7 . The form doesn’t pre-tick any marketing box. Your own privacy policy and marketing consent are your business’s responsibility; the plan gives them a proper place on the site.
